Your Coaching Prices Aren't the Problem. Your Packages Probably Are.

How to build connected offers that make sense to buyers and support the business you want.

A prospect likes your approach. They respect your experience. They can see coaching would help.

Then you explain your packages.

3 months. 6 months. 12 months. More sessions. More access. Different prices.

Now the conversation changes. It stops being about which engagement fits their situation and becomes about how much coaching they can afford.

That’s not a pricing objection. It’s a package design problem.

And it costs you. You discount to close the gap. Follow-up stalls. You land clients who bought the cheapest option instead of the right one, then spend months over-delivering to justify it.

Different prices need different reasons to buy

“Charge what you’re worth” doesn’t help when a prospect can’t see why one package costs $950 and another costs $12,000.

“The second one includes more of you” isn’t an answer either.

Your packages have to make four things clear: the problem being solved, the scope of change, the support required, and the evidence that makes the engagement credible.

Before you touch a price, ask one question:

Does this package solve a distinct problem for a specific buyer, and can that buyer see why it matters now?

If the answer is fuzzy, bonuses won’t fix it.

Give each price level a job

Stop treating your offers like a pile of things you could sell. Treat them as a connected ecosystem where every offer has a job.

Here are some examples I’ve suggested to my leadership coaching clients, built around three situations: a leader navigating AI adoption, an executive struggling to influence decisions, and a manager guiding a team through constant change.

Free: Help the right prospect recognize what needs attention

  1. The Human-AI Leadership Readiness Check

A short assessment shows leaders where AI-enabled work has blurred responsibility, weakened review, or left no one owning the final decision. The result names one leadership issue to fix first. Not a generic list of AI tools to try.

  2. The Decision-Room Influence Map

An interactive worksheet walks an executive through one decision they need to influence: the decision-maker, the informal influencers, the competing priorities, and the person whose support they’ve overlooked. The discovery that sticks: being invited to the meeting isn’t the same as influencing what happens in it.

  3. The Change-Fatigue Leadership Check

A self-assessment helps managers see how repeated restructuring, shifting priorities, and uncertainty are affecting their leadership. It separates communication gaps from workload conflicts, and both from promises the manager can’t credibly make.

Each one gives the reader a useful insight and draws in someone whose situation fits your paid work.

Under $100: Help them make one practical improvement (and “open up their wallet”)

  1. The AI Delegation Agreement Toolkit ($79)

Templates help a leader pin down one AI-assisted workflow: what can be delegated, what needs human review, who owns the outcome, and when to escalate a concern. It includes a worked example and a team discussion guide.

  2. The Decision-Room Briefing Kit ($89)

A concise toolkit for preparing a recommendation for a consequential meeting. You get a one-page decision brief, stakeholder questions, and prompts for anticipating objections. The outcome is a sharper recommendation. Not a full influence strategy.

  3. The Difficult Change Conversation Kit ($59)

Guided preparation for a manager who has to have an honest conversation when the team wants certainty the manager can’t give. It includes scenario-based practice, language for acknowledging uncertainty, and a follow-up checklist.

These offers deliver a complete, bounded result without taking much of your time.

Under $1,000: Provide personalized help with a specific situation

  1. The Human-AI Delegation Intensive ($950)

You review a leader’s completed delegation worksheet, run a focused working session, and give feedback on a draft team agreement. One follow-up checks how the leader communicated responsibilities. The scope is leadership practice. Not technical implementation or legal compliance.

  2. The High-Stakes Decision Rehearsal ($850)

An executive brings one real recommendation and one upcoming meeting. You challenge the argument, role-play stakeholder objections, and sharpen their delivery. It includes preparation, the rehearsal, and one debrief after the meeting.

  3. The Team Reset Conversation Intensive ($950)

A manager prepares for one team conversation after a reorganization or a major priority shift. Together you sort out what’s changed, what’s still undecided, and what the team can agree on now. A follow-up reviews unresolved tensions.

What separates these from the toolkits: tailored judgment, feedback, and practice. Not just more information.

Under $25,000: Support sustained leadership change

  1. Leading Human-AI Teams ($12,000)

A six-month individual engagement. The leader builds delegation, judgment, accountability, and coaching practices as AI changes how work gets done. Sessions work through live situations, with agreed behavioral measures and bounded support between sessions.

  2. From Expertise to Executive Influence ($18,000)

Six months for a technically strong executive who needs to improve stakeholder relationships, communicate recommendations, and handle disagreement on consequential decisions. Progress is reviewed through selected stakeholder feedback and observable changes. Not a promise of promotion.

  3. Leading Through Repeated Change ($22,000)

Six months for a senior leader to set clearer priorities, communicate uncertainty, and address recurring team friction. It combines individual coaching, a limited number of facilitated team conversations, and scheduled progress reviews.

These packages address patterns one intensive can’t reasonably resolve.

$25,000+: Address a broader organizational need

  1. The Human-AI Leadership Pilot ($45,000)

A 12-week program for eight managers: leadership workshops, small-group coaching, and structured workplace experiments. Participants test delegation and review practices in selected workflows, then share what they learned with an executive sponsor. Technical deployment stays outside the coaching scope.

  2. The Cross-Functional Influence Lab ($36,000)

A four-month cohort for eight directors working through real decisions that need support across departments. Facilitated rehearsals, peer feedback, and sponsor reviews help them practice influencing without leaning on positional authority.

  3. The Leadership Team Reset ($48,000)

Six months to help an executive team rebuild working agreements after a reorganization. It includes stakeholder interviews, facilitated sessions, selected individual coaching, and follow-through reviews focused on decision ownership and unresolved commitments.

Here the scope stretches past one person. So do the stakeholders, the preparation, the responsibilities, and the evidence needed to justify the investment.

These prices illustrate package design. They aren’t recommended market rates.

You wouldn’t build all fifteen offers. Pick the pathway that fits your expertise and your buyers. Then decide which levels belong in your business.

The goal isn’t more packages. It’s a clearer reason to choose each one.

Your clients don’t have to climb every rung

This is where the traditional value ladder misleads coaches.

A corporate buyer with an urgent team problem shouldn’t have to buy your $79 toolkit before they can talk to you about an engagement. And a client who solves their problem in an intensive may not need anything else.

Both are good outcomes.

Your next offer should show up because a new need exists. Not because you left the first problem half solved.

Sometimes the right call is to continue. Sometimes it’s to wait, stop, or send them to someone with different expertise. A coherent ecosystem makes those calls easy.

Check what each package costs you to deliver

An affordable offer can get expensive fast.

Take the $950 Human-AI Delegation Intensive. Illustrative math: two hours of preparation, a 90-minute session, an hour of follow-up, and an hour of admin come to 5.5 hours. That’s about $173 an hour, before you count the messages that arrive in between.

Count all of it. Preparation, messages, assignment reviews, follow-up, administration. Then ask whether the fee covers the work.

You don’t need five new offers. You need a clear map of what you already sell, the role each package plays, and the gaps worth closing.

Map the whole ecosystem. Fix one priority first.

Start with your packages and pricing
